Cyril George Thottumkal is a civil engineer specialising in sustainable and innovative materials for infrastructure. Cyril completed his MSc in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Infrastructure at Imperial College London, where he was the first recipient of the prestigious Chevening Imperial India Scholarship. Cyril earned his BTech (Honors) in Civil Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum.
As a Research Associate at the International Centre for Technological Innovations, he developed composite materials from agricultural waste and organised technology transfer for 1,000 farmers. He helped establish production units for eco-friendly building components. As a Founder and Civil Engineer at Ecocystem, he managed green building projects, ensured regulatory compliance, and assisted clients in securing government incentives.
Cyril's contributions extend to community resilience as a Program Officer at IdRCE Centre for Disaster Management. He has also published research on polymer composites and acoustic materials, showcasing his commitment to advancing sustainable engineering solutions.
Aaron George is a Commonwealth Cambridge Scholar, holds a Masters in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge and a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering Trivandrum. He specialises in entrepreneurial science and innovation policy. Aaron helps research organisations and universities to improve their economic contribution to society and assists small and medium-sized enterprises in developing open innovation strategies. Aaron is a co-founder of the International Centre for Technological Innovations and has served as Director since 2012. He has also helped in the creation of technology spin-off companies and producer organisations.
Prior to joining the International Centre for Technological Innovations, he worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland in London. He has served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Imperial Innovations India (Imperial College London). He was nominated by Ernst & Young and selected for UK Trade and Investment – UK Govt.’s Global Partnership Programme among 100 Indian innovators.
